“Steal Like an Artist”

Updated: Jan 7

I was recently introduced to this book written by Austin Kleon, and I fell in love. Loved it

enough to finish it and immediately get the other two parts that followed. It wasn’t inspiring in the traditional sense, but this book came into my life and career when I was on the brink of burnout.

What did it make me do? MAKE MORE ART! I have a half-finished mural on my bedroom wall, and many small projects that get my attention in rounds. More than anything, it reminded me what was so enticing about design—not just “users,” but also problems. Not solutions, but actually just looking at real-life problems and understanding them. Cheers to noting and finding problems, learning from them, and hopefully solving them soon.

So, trying to “steal like an artist,” I’m going to write more often. Not just to add a new post to my blog, but also simply to write.
